Ola, a startup that started as a ride-sharing platform and has now entered the EV segment in India, is ready to expand its portfolio with two upcoming electric cars and affordable scooters.

Ola has officially unveiled its first electric car today, mocking a clip of its upcoming car at a customer event at Ola Future Factory.

The company will launch the cars by the end of 2023 after successfully setting up a battery plant. Ola is planning an affordable scooter with a new chassis and cruise control

Upcoming Ola Electric Cars and Scooters

According to Yogesh, by the end of 2023, Ola will be making two models of electric vehicles. For the first EV car, the company is working on a long-range electric SUV, then plans to launch an electric sedan.

However, Ola will set up its own battery plant before they start building their electric cars. Launched in August 2021, the Ola S1 Pro is a flagship two-wheeler that will replace the first EV of the Ola electric car.

The company also operates low-cost EV scooters, including cruise control. Ola is removing most of the touch screens to control the price of this model.

Our source says that a new chassis is being designed for the upcoming scooter. Most recently, the Ola S1 Pro ranked ninth in India in terms of best scooter sales in May 2022.

Currently, Ola plans to increase production in the next quarter to export S1 series units to Latin America and New Zealand.
