Ola Electric, India’s largest electric vehicle company, has started delivering its all-new S1 Air electric scooter to customers across the country. The S1 Air is the most affordable variant of the Ola S1 electric scooter, which was launched on August 15, 2023. The S1 Air is available in three different battery options: 2kWh, 3kWh, and 4kWh, with prices starting from Rs 84,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru).
Features and Performance
Ola S1 Air electric scooter comes with a hub-mounted motor that produces a peak power of 4.5kW. It can reach a top speed of 90 km/h and has a certified range of 151 km for the 3kWh battery option. The scooter also features three riding modes: Eco, Normal, and Sports, as well as a reverse mode for easy parking.
S1 Air boasts of a sleek and futuristic design, with a twin projector headlamp, curvy body panels, a single-piece seat, and mirrors. It also has a flat footboard that provides extra storage space. The scooter is available in six colours: Porcelain White, Neo Mint, Coral Glam, Jet Black, Liquid Silver, and Neon.
It comes equipped with a TFT screen that displays various information such as speed, battery level, navigation, music playback, and more. The scooter can also be connected to a smartphone via the Ola app, which allows access to features such as proximity unlock, profile sharing, remote boot lock/unlock, OTA updates, and predictive maintenance.
The scooter also comes with a digital key that can be used to unlock and start the scooter without a physical key. The digital key can also be shared with friends and family members through the Ola app.
Safety and Service

Ola S1 Air electric scooter has drum brakes on both wheels, along with a combined braking system for effective stopping power. The scooter also has a side stand alert that prevents the scooter from moving when the stand is engaged.
The S1 Air comes with an extended warranty of up to three years and an insurance policy that covers various aspects such as theft, damage, third-party liability, and personal accident. The scooter also has roadside assistance service that provides help in case of breakdowns or accidents.
The S1 Air can be charged at home using a standard 5A socket or at any of the Ola Hypercharging points that are being set up across the country. Ola claims that it will have over 2000 Hypercharging points by the end of 2023. The charging time for the S1 Air varies depending on the battery capacity and the charging source.
Competition and Prospects
Ola S1 Air electric scooter competes with other electric two-wheelers in the segment such as the Ather 450X, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and more. The S1 Air has an edge over its rivals in terms of features, performance, range, and price.
