In February 2023 Ather Energy witnessed a remarkable year on year growth of 495% in sales and although there was a slight dip of 0.02% compared to the previous month. This surge in demand has resulted in total electric two wheeler sales crossing the 65,000 mark with Ather Energy based in Bengaluru, leading the pack. Furthermore the entry of new players in the market and the launch of new products in the industry have kept the segment active and buzzing. It seems that the electric scooter industry is a sustainable and growing market.
Electric Scooters Sales in February Month 2023
The month of February 2023 was a historic one for Energy as the company celebrated the inauguration of its 100th Experience Center, bringing the total number of ECs to six. Additionally, Energy installed 1,000 charging grids across the country, furthering its commitment to green energy.
The month was also marked by Energy’s corporate partnership with over 2500 organisations and the delivery of its 100,000th vehicle – a major milestone for the company.
Energy’s scooters, the 450 Plus and 450X, are the pride of their lineup, priced at Rs. 1.35 lakh and Rs. 1.58 lakh (ex-showroom, inclusive of FAME II Subsidies). This month was a testament to the company’s commitment to a greener future and its success in providing green mobility solutions.

In January 2023 the 450X was launched with significant upgrades. The comfort level was enhanced with a larger and more comfortable redesigned seat. Moreover, 450X introduced a new type of colours to choose from. These included Cosmic Black, Lunar Grey, Salt Green, and a striking Red shade which were added to the existing palette of White, Space Grey, and Mint Green.
Furthermore, Company has announced plans to introduce an electric scooter later this year. The new scooter will be positioned below the 450X and 450 Plus and it will compete with the Ola S1 Air.
All Sales in February 2023
In February 2023 Ather Energy’s sales reached an astounding 12,147 units reflecting a 494.86 percent increase from the 2,042 units sold in January 2022 and representing an impressive 10,105 unit surge. However, this only accounted for a minuscule 0.02 percent decrease on a month-to-month basis as compared to the 12,149 units sold in January 2023 indicating a only 2 unit difference. Currently, Company holds a 15.5 percent market share at the national level and a 21 percent share in areas where it maintains a retail presence.
Upcoming Scooters From Ather Energy

As of now, there is no scooter available in the sub-Rs 1 lakh category. However, this is all set to change this year with ‘s upcoming affordable electric scooter. Recently spotted undergoing testing, this e-scooter is expected to come with a price tag of less than one lakh. It will compete with the Ola S1 Air.
Unlike the Ather Energy’s 450X and 450 Plus, this new electric vehicle is based on a cost-effective tubular chassis. This will allow the manufacturer to reduce the production cost and hence offer this e-scooter at an aggressive price. Additionally, it will be equipped with a smaller battery pack. This will give it a ride range of 80 kms.
