Ayodhya, the city of the Ram Temple, is preparing to host VVIP guests from India and abroad who are expected to attend the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony on January 22, 2024. The government is making special arrangements for the VVIP tourists, including providing them with electric cars for their transportation.

Electric cars are part of the initiative to make Ayodhya a net zero carbon emission city. According to news agency ANI, 12 electric cars have been deployed at strategic locations in the city, such as Ayodhya Cantt Railway Station, Ayodhya Dham Junction, Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya, to welcome the VVIPs.

Electric cars will offer a pleasant and eco-friendly journey to the visitors

“These electric cars will be provided for all those who come here to visit Ram Mandir. You can find electric cars everywhere in Ayodhya now. Currently, there are 12 cars in the fleet which will be available for booking via a mobile application,” said Dilip Pandey, local supervisor of the electric car taxi service in Ayodhya.

He added that more cars will be brought in by January 22. “These electric cars will help in visiting all the religious centers like Ram Janambhoomi, Suraj Kund, Suryu river, Bharat Kund, etc. The fare for these electric cars will start at Rs 250 for 10kms, Rs 400 for 20 kms and goes up to Rs 3000 for 12 hours,” he said.

Electric cars are made in India and connected to a mobile app

The electric cars are manufactured in India and have a trial run at Ayodhya Cantt station. The passengers are also asked to share their feedback on their electric car journey. The tourists can easily book electric cars through their mobile app, which will be connected to all the electric cars in the near future.
