Bajaj Auto has recently increased the price of its complete motorcycle lineup in India. In addition to the Pulsar, Avengers and Commuter ranges, the company’s only electric two-wheeler Chetak will grow in July.
The scooter is now priced at Rs 1.54 lakh, ex-showroom Pune, which is Rs 12,749 more than the previous price of Rs 1.41 lakh.
Bajaj has increased the price of Chetak by 9 per cent compared to other price increases in its motorcycle line-up. However, despite the price increase, the electric scooter has remained the same in terms of styling, features and hardware.
Bajaj has sold 14,000 units of Chetak since its launch in 2019. With the opening of a new manufacturing plant at Akurdi in Pune, the company is looking to fill its existing 10,000 bookings.
The facility is already operational and can add up to 5 lakh units a year. The plant will also make electric vehicles for KTM, Huskvarna and gas gas.
