Simple Energy, the innovative Indian start-up in the electric vehicle and clean energy sector has announced the launch of their much-awaited electric two-wheeler, the Simple One, on May 23, 2023. The Bengaluru-based EV startup unveiled the premium electric scooter and divulged its starting price back in 2021.
Simple Energy confirms compliance with the new Automotive Industry Standards (AIS) amendment 3, designed to standardize safety protocols for batteries and guard against any potential fire-related incidents in the country’s EV sector.
Fastest Scooter in E2W Market
Simple One scooter has been making headlines since its debut as the fastest scooter in the E2W market. Simple Energy has certified the scooter’s powerful battery pack to meet safety standards.
Indicative Pricing and Bookings
It was first unveiled back in August 2021 with an estimated price of Rs 1,09,999. A more advanced version of the scooter was also released, bearing an indicative price of Rs 1,44,999. Customers can reserve it for a refundable fee of Rs 1,947. Final prices may be amended when the scooter finally launches on May 23rd, 2023.

Safety Standards Compliance
Simple Energy is the first Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to comply with the Automotive Industry Standards (AIS) 156 amendment 3, ensuring improved battery safety and making the Simple One scooter even more dependable and secure. The Simple One has also been upgraded on aesthetics, battery systems and powertrains.
Features of the Simple One
Simple One is equipped with an 8.5 kW motor that delivers a peak torque of 72 Nm, a 4.8 kWh Lithium-ion battery, fast charging capability and great features like connected tech, a combi braking system, LED lighting, alloy wheels, and disc brakes. Simple Energy aims to meet the growing demand for electric two-wheelers in the country with a premium affordable offering.
