Hero Electric has something special in store for its Indian customers. Company just teased the launch of an all new electric scooter in the country. The teaser was shared via its social media platforms and it looks like the bike is going to be quite a showstopper.
To get a first glimpse of the upcoming electric scooter Hero Electric has shared a 12 second teaser on microblogging site Twitter. With the caption ‘Presenting a new era of 2W mobility’, the teaser gives a bleak yet exciting preview of the scooter.
It is still not known whether the scooter will launch as an updated Hero Optima or a new model. But what we do know is that Hero Electric will be launching the scooter on March 15.
A close look at the teaser video reveals that the upcoming electric scooter is set to come with some interesting features. An LED headlamp positioned at the front cowl is expected to be the highlight of the vehicle along with LED turn indicators at the centre. Other features that the scooter is likely to include are front disc brakes, a curvy seat, a thick grab rail and a blue paint theme.
Recently, Hero MotoCorp has joined forces with US-based Zero Motorcycles in a partnership that will see the two companies collaborate on the development of premium electric motorcycles. Approved by Hero MotoCorp’s board in September 2022 the agreement includes an equity investment of up to $60 million from Hero MotoCorp in Zero Motorcycles.
This collaboration brings together the superior powertrain and electric motorcycle engineering capabilities of Zero Motorcycles with the scale of manufacturing, sourcing and marketing of Hero MotoCorp. This strategic collaboration is expected to benefit both companies and the future of electric motorcycles.
