Ola Electric, the leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer in India, is set to launch the MoveOS 4 update for its S1 electric scooter range on August 15, coinciding with the Independence Day celebrations. The company has teased some of the new features that the update will bring to enhance the riding experience of its customers.
What is MoveOS 4?
MoveOS 4 is the latest version of the operating system that powers the Ola S1 electric scooters. The company claims that MoveOS 4 will make the scooters smarter, safer, and more fun to ride. The update will be available to all S1 customers by the end of the year.
What are the new features of MoveOS 4?

One of the most anticipated features of MoveOS 4 is the Concert mode, which is an extension of the existing Party mode. While Party mode synchronizes the scooter’s lights with music, Concert mode is expected to take this synchronization to a new level, possibly coordinating lights and music across multiple scooters.
Another feature that MoveOS 4 is likely to introduce is the expanded display options for the scooter’s digital dashboard. The current options include light, auto, and dark settings, which adjust the brightness and contrast of the screen according to the ambient light. The new update might offer more customization options for the users to choose from different moods and themes for their home screen.
Additionally, MoveOS 4 might also improve the navigation system of the scooters, which currently uses Google Maps. The company has hinted at a possible integration of Ola Maps, its own mapping service, which could provide more accurate and relevant information for the riders.
What else is Ola Electric working on?
Apart from MoveOS 4, Ola Electric has also teased an image of a silhouette of an electric motorcycle, which could be its next product in the pipeline. The company’s co-founder and CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, shared the image on his Twitter handle with a heart emoji, without revealing any details about the bike. However, some reports suggest that the bike could be based on the Etergo AppScooter, a Dutch electric scooter that Ola Electric acquired last year.
Ola Electric has already received a huge response for its S1 electric scooters, which were launched in July this year. The company claims that it has received over one lakh bookings in just 24 hours after opening reservations. The S1 scooters are priced at Rs 99,999 for the base variant and Rs 1,29,999 for the pro variant, excluding state subsidies. The deliveries are expected to begin in September this year.
