Simple One Electric Scooter Launched at Rs 1.45 lakh: Know More

Bengaluru-based electric mobility startup Simple Energy has created quite a stir with their first launch in India, Simple One. It comes with a competitive price tag of Rs. 1.45 lakh and this electric scooter will heat up the already intense electric two-wheeler market. Big names like Ather Energy and Ola electric as well as TVS Motor Co must be on their toes for the Simple One comes with a range of exciting features and is available in six alluring colors. Two special edition variants have also been released for those who want to add style to their ride.

Performance, Top Speed, Battery

It features an outstanding 8.5kW at peak power and 4.5kW at continuous power and accompanied by 72Nm of torque. This all combines to ensure it quickly accelerates from 0 to 40kmph in a matter of seconds and reaching a maximum top speed of 105kmph. On top of this four ride modes are available to match conditions and preferences Sporting various modes such as Eco, Ride, Dash and Sonic.

Simple One

One of the main aspects of the Simple One is its remarkable range. It comes with a 5kWh battery pack which produces an Industry-Defined Charging (IDC) range of 212km impressive for a scooter. How much more impressive is the fact that the Simple One has both a fixed and a removable battery pack, ensuring you have options when it comes to charging. Fixed battery takes about 3 hours and 47 minutes to charge, while the removable battery takes 2 hours and 7 minutes with a home charger.

According to the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) country’s automotive testing and certification authority, the scooter’s range stretches to a remarkable 212km ushering in a new era of convenient travel for riders. It comes equipped with full-LED lighting, a seven-inch TFT touchscreen display and Bluetooth and 4G LTE connectivity riders have access to all the info they need on the road. With its on-board charger variant priced at ₹1.45 lakh and the 750-watt charger variant at ₹1.58 lakh, Simple One is more affordable than Ather Energy’s 450X, yet cheaper than Ola Electric’s S1 Pro.

Expansion Plans and Future Prospects

Simple Energy is set to get the ball rolling for their Simple One scooter with deliveries beginning in the city of Bengaluru. Company has huge plans ahead aspiring to open up store fronts in 40-50 cities in the next year with 160-180 retail stores total. Furthermore, Simple Energy is hoping to become profitable and reach ‘unit-level breakeven’ in the next twelve months by scaling production up to its current capacity of 25,000 units per month.

Founder and CEO of Simple Energy, Suhas Rajkumar, said he was full of optimism regarding his company’s prospects in the near future. Despite concerns about the regulatory landscape, CEO assured that Simple Energy was eager to make full steam ahead in the upcoming months.
