Tata Motors has officially unveiled the 2023 Nexon facelift SUV, which features a host of design and feature updates inspired by the Curvv concept. The bookings for the new Nexon SUV will open from Monday, September 4, with a starting price expected to be just above Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). The deliveries are likely to commence during the festive season.

New Design and Features

Nexon SUV sports a more modern and chic look, thanks to the Curvv-influenced fascia. The front grille is closed-off and merges with the LED DRLs, while the LED projector headlights are housed in triangular units. The side profile is similar to the outgoing model, except for the new 5-spoke alloy wheels. The rear gets new connected LED tail lamps that give it a premium outlook.

The interior of the new Nexon SUV has also been overhauled and looks more minimalist. The two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo and touch-based climate control are lifted from the Curvv concept. The floating infotainment system now features Tata’s larger 10.25-inch unit, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other new features include a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, advanced air purifier, paddle shifters, and a 9-speaker Harman music system.

Variants and Powertrain Options

SUV will be available in 11 different variants with new nomenclature: Smart, Smart +, Pure, Creative, Creative +, Fearless and Fearless + S. The Smart trim is the base variant, while the Fearless + S is the top-spec offering. Each trim level offers different combinations of features and colours to suit different customer preferences.

Nexon SUV will continue to offer two engine options: a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol engine is now paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox, in addition to the 6-speed manual and AMT options. The diesel engine comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox. Tata Motors is also expected to launch the EV versions of the new Nexon SUV soon.

Expected to Dominate the Segment

The new Nexon SUV is expected to fully dominate the sub-4m SUV segment in India and significantly boost the sales figures of Tata Motors in the coming months. The Nexon SUV has been one of the most popular models from Tata Motors, thanks to its spacious cabin, strong performance, high safety ratings, and attractive pricing. With the new design and feature updates, the new Nexon SUV is likely to appeal to a wider range of customers who are looking for a stylish, feature-rich, and value-for-money compact SUV.
