Tata Motors is all set to launch its electric version of the Punch SUV on January 17 in India. The Punch EV is one of the most awaited electric vehicles in the market, as it is based on the successful Punch model that has received a lot of positive feedback from the customers. The Punch EV will compete with the Citroen EC3 in the Indian market, which is another electric SUV that was launched recently.
Punch EV is likely to be priced in a budget-friendly range of Rs 9 to 12 lakh, which will make it accessible to most of the customers who are looking for an electric vehicle. The Punch EV is also expected to offer a good range of around 200 km on a single charge, which will make it suitable for both city and highway driving. The Punch EV will also benefit from the Tata’s electric division, which has been growing steadily in terms of sales and service network.
Tata Punch EV will not have many changes in the exterior design from the standard Punch model, except for some minor tweaks to differentiate it. The Punch EV will sport new 5-spoke alloy wheels and disc brakes on the rear wheels. The interior of the Punch EV will feature a 2-spoke steering wheel, which is a new design that was first seen in the Tata Curve SUV concept. The 2-spoke steering wheel will also be given to the new Nexon facelift, which is another upcoming model from Tata Motors. The Punch EV will also share many features with the existing Punch model, such as the digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, and safety features.
