TVS Motor Company, one of the leading two-wheeler manufacturers in India, is gearing up to launch its new electric scooter, the Creon, which is based on the concept showcased at Auto Expo 2018. The Creon is expected to be a premium e-scooter that will rival the likes of Ather 450X, Simple One and Ola S1 Pro in the Indian market. The company has recently teased the upcoming e-scooter on its social media platforms, revealing some of its features and design elements. TVS has had recently announced release date of Creon EV on 23rd Aug.
The teaser shows a vertical headlight of the Creon, which gives it a sleek and futuristic look. The e-scooter also seems to have a muscular front fascia, a large instrument panel, a step-up seat design, and integrated grab rails. The rear-view mirrors of the Creon are likely to be borrowed from TVS’ iQube, another electric scooter from the brand. The Creon also has a low seat height and a front hand bar that will make it comfortable for long rides.
Creon is not just about looks, but also about performance. The e-scooter is expected to come with three battery packs, with a total of 12kW of power output, equivalent to 15.7 bhp. The Creon will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in just 5.1 seconds, and have a claimed range of 80 km on a full charge. The battery packs will also be water-protected up to an IP67 rating, which means they can withstand dust and water immersion. The Creon will also have some smart features, such as cloud connectivity, GPS navigation, anti-theft system, and remote diagnostics.
TVS Creon is expected to launch in India around October 2023, with an estimated price of Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom). The e-scooter will be a part of TVS’ plan to invest Rs 1,000 crore in the development of its electric vehicles. The Creon will be a game-changer for the premium e-scooter segment in India, offering a sporty design and impressive performance.
