TVS iQube Electric Scooter Hits 2 lakh Sales Milestone In India

TVS Motor Company, one of India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers, has announced that its electric scooter, the iQube, has crossed the 2 lakh unit sales mark in the country. This makes TVS the first legacy brand to surpass this milestone in the electric two-wheeler segment.

The iQube was launched in January 2020 as TVS’ first electric offering. It took more than three years for the company to sell 1 lakh units of the iQube. However, the next 1 lakh units were sold in just 10 months, indicating a rapid growth in demand and acceptance for the e-scooter.

The iQube is on sale in two versions. The standard one costs 1.24 lakh, while the pricier S model comes in at 1.39 lakh (price includes FAME-II subsidy). Both models feature a lithium-ion battery that powers a 6 BHP motor. Maximum speed reachable is 78 km/h and the battery can last up to 140 km.

These amazing electric scooters have some great inclusions like LED headlamp, digital instruments, phone connectivity, geo-fencing, remote battery charge status check, navigational aid, last parking spot memory and Q-parking assist. Moreover, the S variant has a TFT display, Bluetooth, three ride modes and regenerative braking.

TVS iQube: Sales performance and expansion plans

TVS announced a 6% growth in their total sales for September 2023 by selling 402,553 units. Out of that, a massive increase of 4 times higher iQube e-scooter was seen with 20,356 units sold last month. The sales in the first six months of the current fiscal year for iQube almost equaled the total units sold last year as it comprises of 96,561 units.

To reach out to more customers, TVS is expanding its retail networks for iQube that will now be available in 140 cities and 310 touchpoints. This number will be further increased to almost 600 points by the end of this year.

The iQube is facing competition from Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 and Ather 450X in the electric scooter segment but TVS stands out as it promises overall low cost and a superior riding experience.
