TVS Motor Company, the fifth largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world, is all set to launch its second electric scooter, the TVS Creon, today in Dubai. The company has been teasing the new product on its social media handles, promising a thrilling, modern and disruptive electric mobility experience.
Design and features
TVS Creon is based on the concept model that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 in India. The production version retains the rakish and radical design of the concept, with a vertical LED headlight unit, sharp apron panels, sporty alloy wheels and a sleek tail section. The scooter also features a large digital instrument cluster that displays various information such as speed, battery level, range, navigation and more.
Creon is expected to come with several smart features such as smartphone connectivity, geo-fencing, remote diagnostics, theft alert, ride modes and regenerative braking. The scooter will also offer a large storage space under the seat and a USB charging port for convenience.
Performance and range

TVS Creon is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged up to 80% in just one hour using a fast charger. The battery pack is coupled with three brushless DC motors that deliver a combined output of 12 kW (16.3 PS) and 72 Nm of torque. The scooter can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in just 5.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 105 km/h.
TVS Creon claims to offer a range of 80 km on a single charge, which is sufficient for urban commuting. The scooter also has a low kerb weight of 140 kg, which enhances its agility and handling.
Price and availability
The TVS Creon is expected to be priced around AED 15,000 (Rs 3 lakh) in Dubai. Company has not revealed its plans for launching the scooter in other markets, but it is likely that the Creon will be introduced in India and other countries where TVS has a presence. TVS Creon will compete with other premium electric scooters such as the Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro and Bajaj Chetak.
