TVS Motor Company has recently launched its first electric scooter, the TVS X, in India. The TVS X is based on the TVS Creon concept that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. Performance and Range

TVS X electric scooter is all about power. Powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), the X scooter delivers a rated power of 7 kW (9.38 bhp) and a peak power of 11 kW (14.75 bhp). All that power is complemented by a 4.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a usable capacity of 3.8 kWh and an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.

The X electric scooter leaves the competition in the dust with its incredible acceleration. It takes just 2.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h and 4.5 seconds to reach 60 km/h. Charging and Battery

TVS X electric scooter comes with two charging options to ensure efficient and safe battery power. A 950-Watt portable charger, which can be plugged into a regular 15-Amp socket, offers fast charging capabilities from 0 to 80 percent in 3 hours and 40 minutes. Alternatively, a 3 kW smart home charger can be installed at the rider’s home or office and takes only 50 minutes to charge the battery from 0 to 50 percent. Additionally, the e-scooter features an intelligent Battery Management System (BMS) to monitor and protect the battery pack. This includes overcharge protection, over-discharge protection, short circuit protection, and thermal protection.

Connected Technology and Features

TVS X electric scooter is packed with innovative features and technologies that connect it to an intelligent EV. For easy navigation, the scooter comes with a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display where riders can access various information like speed, battery level, range, and riding mode. This display also supports gesture control and voice commands.

To make use of its special services, the scooter can be linked and controlled through smartphones with TVS Connect app via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Services such as remote lock/unlock, geo-fencing, theft alert, and live location tracking are included in the app. Plus, it provides OTA updates for software and firmware.

Boasting a high level of safety and stability for its rider, the TVS X e-scooter is equipped with disc brakes on both wheels and dual-channel ABS for superior brake performance. What’s more, GravitOPS technology is integrated to contribute to the scooter’s stability when travelling at high speeds or cornering. The TVS X also has a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear for suspension, as well as 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres for superior grip and traction on any road surface.

Price and Availability

At a price of Rs 2.50 lakh (excluding FAME II subsidy) ex-showroom in Bengaluru, TVS X electric scooter is India’s most expensive electric scooter. Those interested in buying this luxurious ride can book it online or at select TVS dealers with a booking fee of Rs 10,000. Delivery of the product will start from November 2023, and it will initially be available in Bengaluru, followed by other cities.
