Ola Recalls 1,441 E-Scooters

Ola Electric announced on Sunday that it was recalling 1,441 electric two-wheelers in the wake of the e-bike fire.

These scooters will be inspected by engineers and diagnostics will be performed on all systems.

Ola said in a statement that it was investigating the March 26 fire in Pune. According to Olar’s initial assessment, the incident is an isolated incident.

Ola Electric said in a statement that it would conduct a detailed diagnostic and health check of that particular batch of scooters and therefore voluntarily recall 1,441 vehicles.

“These scooters will be inspected by our service engineers and will be subject to diagnostics on all battery systems, heating systems and safety systems,” the company said.

In addition to complying with European standards ECE 136, Ola Electric says its battery systems are already compliant and have been tested for India’s latest benchmark AIS 156.

Recently, there have been widespread fires in electric two-wheelers in different parts of the country, especially in Tamil Nadu, forcing manufacturers to recall their vehicles.
