Xiaomi’s first electric car SU7 to hit the market soon

Xiaomi, the popular consumer electronics company from China, is gearing up to launch its first electric vehicle (EV) in the near future. The EV, named Xiaomi SU7, is a sleek sedan with a gray color and alloy wheels. SU stands for Speed Ultra, indicating the high performance of the car.

Xiaomi gave a sneak peek of its electric car in a teaser posted on social media platform X by its Chief Executive Officer, Lei Jun. The teaser revealed some of the features of the SU7, such as the HyperOS operating system, the Mi logo, and a camera similar to Tesla’s Model S in the side view mirror. Lei Jun also hinted at the integration of the car with the smartphone, allowing the user to control various functions of the car through their phone.

Xiaomi to showcase its EV technology at ‘Stride’ event

Xiaomi has announced that it will hold its first EV technology event, called ‘Stride’, on Thursday (December 28). The event will not launch any product, but will focus on the technology behind the company’s first electric car. Lei Jun had previously said that the company has prioritized intelligent technology in its new EV, which would be comparable to advanced car systems like Tesla’s Model S. He also shared some interesting details about the SU7, such as its variants, speed, and range.

Xiaomi SU7 to come in three variants with different features

Xiaomi has not disclosed any technical specifications of the SU7 yet, but it is expected to launch in China in the next few months. The pricing of the car is also unknown, but Lei Jun has promised that it will be better than expected. The SU7 will come in three variants – SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Ultra – with different features and ranges. The basic variant will have a top speed of 210 km/h, while the top-end variant will have a top speed of 265 km/h.

EV sales on the rise as more companies enter the segment

The EV market has witnessed a rapid growth in the last few years, as more consumers opt for eco-friendly and cost-effective vehicles. Many automobile companies are also launching their models in this segment, creating more competition and innovation. Xiaomi, which is known for its smartphones, laptops, and smart devices, is the latest entrant in the EV space, and hopes to make a mark with its SU7.
