Hero Vida V1 Pro Sets New World Record for 24-Hour Electric Scooter Journey of 1,780km

Autocar India and Hero MotoCorp have achieved a Guinness World Record for the greatest distance covered on an electric scooter in 24 hours by a team in a relay.

In a remarkable feat, Autocar India and Hero MotoCorp have achieved a Guinness World Record for the greatest distance covered on an electric scooter in 24 hours by a team in a relay. Using the Hero Vida V1 Pro electric scooter, the six-rider team accomplished the feat at the Hero MotoCorp’s Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) located in Jaipur over the course of the 20th and 21st of April 2023. 

The team managed to travel a whopping 1,780 km, besting the previous record by almost 350 km. The record was broken during the 19th hour of the attempt. 

The Vida V1 electric scooter is the first offering from the electric mobility subsidiary of Hero MotoCorp and has been instrumental in making this record-breaking attempt a reality.

The Record-Breaking Run

At precisely 6:45 am on April 20, the six-rider team set out on an extraordinary mission – to break an existing record. 24 hours later, the team had achieved their goal.

 Hero’s Centre for Innovation and Technology in Jaipur was the site of the record attempt, where temperatures hovered around 40 degrees Celsius, and the track temperature exceeded 50 degrees Celsius. Despite the sweltering heat, the Vida V1 delivered peak performance, and the team completed a total of 1,780 km, breaking the existing record by 2 am. 

History was made that day, as the six-rider team achieved what many thought was impossible – breaking a record under such extreme heat and conditions. The team’s remarkable accomplishment will be remembered for years to come.

 This high-performance scooter is now available in two variants – Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro. Its most impressive feature is the riding range of up to 165 km per charge, and a top speed of 80 kmph.

The Hero Vida V1 has already made waves in the electric scooter segment, having broken the previous record by 350 km, team at Jaipur CIT who conducted most battery swaps in under 20 seconds. This incredible scooter is now available at a starting price of Rs 1.45 lakh, and deliveries began earlier this year.

The New Record

The electric mobility brand set the record for “The greatest distance on an electric scooter in 24 hours by a team in relay” – a whopping 1,780 km (1,106.04 mi)! Future Plans

The Autocar India team and the Hero MotoCorp team joined forces to cover a whopping 1,780 km on the VIDA V1 electric scooter, breaking the Guinness World Record for the greatest distance covered on an electric scooter in 24 hours.

Swapnil Dangarikar, the Official Adjudicator of the Guinness World Records, expressed his amazement at the accomplishment, commenting that the previous record had been surpassed by a remarkable 350 km in the sweltering summer heat of Jaipur.

Hero MotoCorp is now looking to expand its presence in the country, targeting 100 cities in the ongoing calendar year of 2023. The brand is confident that this record-breaking effort will give it the necessary momentum to reach its goal.
